RENEE MCCLELLAN – writer/director/producer
A Chicago native, this EMMY award winning writer began her career performing with elite theater groups such as ETA Creative Arts Foundation and The Black Ensemble. She continued on to writing, directing and producing various film and television projects. As a film/television actress, she has performed in such productions as Brewster’s Place, Seinfield, and Deep Impact. A graduate of Chapman University with a BFA in Film Production, she also has an MFA in Screenwriting from The American Film Institute. (AFI) Currently a Long Beach resident, Renee produced an award winning show, THE ASK AURI TALKSHOW, which received the LB Award for Best Children’s Talkshow in 2004. She is a member of Screen Actors Guild (SAG), Alliance of Women Directors (AWD) and Women In Film (WIF). Her award winning project, BEYOND THE PRETTY DOOR, explores overcoming the cycle of abuse. At this time, Renee is polishing several feature scripts for production: DUFFLE BAG BABY, GLORY, FAITH & JUSTICE, MIDDLE SCHOOL SLEUTHS, and REPLICA. With THE RESCUE about to screen, Renee will go into pre-production with JULIAN’S JOURNEY .
TOURELLE MCCLELLAN – executive producer
Serving his 13th year in the U.S. Navy, this Chicago native knew early on that he wanted to serve his country. After attending two years at Long Beach City College, he was drawn to the honor and discipline of military life. He is currently based in foreign lands anticipating when he’ll come home to visit his daughter. Growing up attending theater on the stages of Chicago with his mother, Tourelle remains a constant supporter to entertainment. He’s looking forward to producing a feature in the next few years.
FAITH DINCOLO – executive producer
Faith Dincolo is a filmmaker and writer. She holds an MFA from the American Film Institute in screenwriting. She has produced and written for cable television shows, including Gary Raymond Live, Local Matters, and infomercials. Her acting career has included voice overs, stage plays, improvisational comedy and standup, and she has been a news reporter and anchor. Faith spent ten years as an industry reader with several high profile production companies. She has written and produced 5 short films, and is a published author. Currently, she is working on a YA horror novel that she will adapt into a screenplay, and working as a story editor.
SOFIA RODRIGUEZ – associate producer
Sofia and her family moved from Lima, Peru to the United States when she was 10 years-old. Her interest in the arts and entertainment began at an early age. As a child, she developed a strong interest in singing and dancing which she pursued informally. She was also extremely athletic and competitive from elementary school through her senior year in high school becoming a starter in her basketball and volleyball teams. In college, she took courses in dance, voice, acting, and photography. More recently, her interest in the entertainment industry has been fueled by her desire to help her daughters pursue their acting careers. As a dedicated mother, she has become very familiar with the business side of the cinematic arts, especially as it applies to children. Sofia obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with emphasis in social work from Chapman University and has worked for the Adelanto School District as an office clerk and program coordinator for several years. She is currently working on becoming a substitute teacher and is also looking forward to continued pursuits in the field of cinematic arts.
KEVIN COLEMAN – associate producer
A St. Louis native, and the driving force behind Coleman Entertainment, Kevin received a masters in directing from the prestigious American Film Institute and BA in film from Howard University. Kevin received a grant from the Caucus Foundation for producers, writers, and directors during his undergraduate work for his film MICHAEL KEYS. Kevin also interned for veteran actor/director Bill Duke (Sister Act 2, Hoodlum, Deep Cover) on “Angel One More Road To Cross” starring DMX and Mary J. Blige and “Partners of the Heart” narrated by Morgan Freeman. Kevin has directed several short films. In 2011, Kevin directed the short film OSI and his 2005 film SNAPSHOT won at the Hollywood Black Film Festival and screened at several festivals, receiving awards. Kevin is also in preparation to direct ELON SETTLES, story of a homeless teenage male prostitute struggling to survive on the streets and is collaborating with other filmmakers on projects he plans to produce and direct. Kevin also spent time as a visiting assistant professor of film and media at the University of Missouri at Kansas City and an adjunct professor at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park.

Christine Dennis graduated from USC with a degree in Communication and Cinematic Arts. While attending school, she senior produced a live entertainment talk show on LA channel 36 where she was able to exercise her creative freedom. While assisting at Mandate Pictures (Juno, Harold & Kumar) she developed a deep passion for story analysis and creative development, allowing her to grow creatively and professionally. Her professional experience includes executive assistant to an Indie Director, line producing, rolling calls, story analysis, and organizing creative production meetings. She values the collaborative process of taking a film from script to screen. She is inspired by innovative ideas and unique stories that raise new thoughts, questions, and emotions. She is known for her positive energy and believes in projects that move and inspire us all to pursue our dreams.
AURIEL ARMSTRONG – associate producer/asst. catering
Auriel Armstrong began her career at the ripe old age of 3, by posing for a math book cover in Chicago. By the time she was 18 she had become a professional model, a musician, a teen queen, a Division 1 athlete, an actress, a newspaper columnist, and the host of her very own talk show, THE ASK AURI Talk show of which she also produced and won the LB Award in 2004. With her 6’2 frame and dynamite athletic ability , Auriel can not only work a volleyball court, be an asset to any movie set, and have a face that could grace the pages of VOGUE, she is also currently pursuing her degree in Communications while honing her skills in Spanish, French and Mandarin.
NICHOLAS MCCLELLAN – associate producer/catering
A Chicago native, Nicholas grew up watching his mother perform on stage and screen. She encouraged him to explore his own creative talent. Performing in plays in high school and college, he discovered that he preferred to be in the background of production. After years of participating on production projects, he went back to college to study cinematography. He has now began producing projects under Diamond-In-The-Ruff Productions – a production company centering around urban and under-served youth. After several years of assisting on the production team for his sister’s talk show, he is excited to be associate producer for The RESCUE. His future aspiration is to produce feature films
JEAN VAUGHAN – line producer
Jean started her career in Film/TV while living in Dallas/Fort Worth after 25 years in accounting and a desire for change. She started by working both the Dallas/AFI International Film Festival and the Lone Star International Film Festival in the PR departments where she both promoted the film festivals and escorted talent on the Red Carpet. She then expanded into film working on the short film “EMMA’S WISH”, features such as “TEXAS TANGO” and the acclaimed “BEYOND THE FARTHEST STAR” being released in theaters later this year. As a voice-over talent, Jean has written, produced, and voiced spots for a variety of clients. After moving to Los Angeles, CA in April of 2010, she helped out at the Los Angeles Film Festival then branched out into making Public Service Announcements for deserving charities and is a member of Women in Film and AFI. Jean’s current projects include line producing the film “THE RESCUE” and producing“THE LIFE WE LEAD”, a music video.
CHRIS BROWN – cinematographer
Chris began his filmmaking career with black and white 16mm that he sliced and cut together by hand in the basement of Wright State University where he studied film history. He soon developed a passion for French New Wave films and the desire to capture the human experience on screen. His work has been described as “visual poetry”. Originally from Ohio, his projects have taken him all over the world from Colorado to New York City to Peru, allowing him to experience the world at its most vulnerable and realistic moments through the lens of a camera. Chris has a unique talent for visually transforming the words of a screenplay into a moving experience that audiences can relate to. He believes that film making is a collaborative and creative process. He is a solution finder and believes no obstacle is too big to overcome.

Russell grew up in the world of Magic! At the age of 8, he fell in love with magic, magic of all kinds. Russell went on to travel the world as a professional magician, honing his skills in exotic locations, and communicating with audiences through the enticing language of entertainment. With his background as a magician and his innate desire to engage an audience, Russell added to his many talents that of film editing. “Editing allows me to work magic in a new way that I truly love.” This new way to make magic started when Russell worked in television, covering live sporting events, local news for ed.tv and ed.sports as a cameraman, Chyron operator, set manager, producer, director and editor – his favorite position. Russell has completed several promotional projects in the equestrian, auto racing, Motor-cross and classical music markets, because “when you believe in Magic, you can do anything.” Currently focusing more on filmmaking, Russell finds inspiration in each of the independent projects.

Kevin has been engineering professionally for over a decade. He began his professional career at Medger Evers College studying Computer Science which put him at the forefront of the DAW revolution (Digital Audio Workstation). Kevin soon mastered the majority of all DAW formats – Protools, Cubase, Nuendo and Logic. This landed him an opportunity to teach nation wide as an independent contractor with Steinberg – North America, instructing engineers, producers, record company executives and established professionals in various aspects of digital audio software. In 1994, while working with a clientele of multi-platinum artists, producers and record Executives such as Beyonce, LL Cool J, and Queen Latifah, Kevin started Stongtree Productions. This Emmy Award winning engineer is delighted to be associated with The RESCUE.

Robert Navarro was born in New York City where he started his career as a pianist, arranger, producer, and therapeutic recreation specialist. Robert graduated from City College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Music. Robert attended Manners College of Music (Extension Division for Jazz Studies), and Manhattan School of Music (Classical Studies) during his undergraduate years. He later received a Master of Arts (MA) from New York University. In 1997 Robert decided to start his own production company, RNR Productions, Inc. and produced “Cathy Navedo” for ExclusivoRecords. He recorded and co-produced for Eddie Palmieri a project for “The Ballet Hispanico Puertorriqueno” and did studio work with Larry Harlow. Robert also recorded and co-produced for Angelo Pagan actor in the movie “Starfish,” this was Angelo’s first record production for Morrowland Records in California. Other recorded artists were Tipica 88 and Conjunto Clasico: “Quiereme” and “The 25 Anniversary” featuring Tito Nieves. This production was under the Warner Latina label and was nominated for a Latin American Grammy in 2004. On December 2007 he received a Grammy as an arranger with Bobby Cruz “Romanticos de Ayer, Hoy y Siempre” Song “Envidia”

Independent film-maker and film-lover Pietro Famulari was born in Siracusa, Sicily. He studied Film Production and completed his MFA at Boston University. Before he received his MFA, he studied in Rome, at La Sapienza University. During that time time he attended a screenwriting course at RAI, the Italian main television network, and a school for drawing and storyboarding. During his time at Boston University he produced several short films, including his first film “Shattered” (2008). “Blue Sky” (2009) won Audience Choice Award and the Jury’s Choice Award Best Student Film at the 3rd D.C. Deaf Film Festival (Washington D.C.). “Your Way Home” (in Italy “Figlio del Mare”) has won 2nd place at theRedstone Film Festival (Boston) and Redstone West Film Festival (Los Angeles). Mechelle Hooper earned her way in the hair industry. She started working in a salon at the tender age of 13 as a receptionist and there she discovered her life-long passion. Her ambitious nature and unique sense of style set her apart from the rest. This fashion savvy stylist honed her skills and created her own path in the hair industry. Thirty years later, owning and operating two salons in the Long Beach, California area, Hooper garnered a successful career as a stylist and entrepreneur. Her ultimate goal is to open a foundation for under-served and at-risk youth, which will cultivate leadership, self-discipline and self-esteem. She wants to encourage young people to not only appreciate a healthy concept of beauty, but to also live a responsible and accountable life of service.

Robin Roy has been training dogs her whole life, starting as a child following her mother, an AKC obedience judge, around the ring. Robin’s training methods are positive, dog-friendly techniques that work quickly and easily—and each session includes an exercise walk for the dog. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the Hollywood Dog Obedience Club, and a volunteer at the Lange Foundation. She is a certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and is certified in Pet First Aid and CPR. She regularly attends professional conferences and is always learning—especially from her canine colleagues. She longs for a time when all guardians of our dogs appreciate them for the infinite packages of learning and love that they are.

The epitome of a modern Filipina – if thereʼs someone to personify and define the word “unconventional”, it would be Maricris Bautista. Not your typical meek and mild, she exudes power in her career. Growing up in Makati, Philippines, Maricris honed her skills to pursue a successful career in the US. Her family migrated to the US when she was 14. As she grew into an industry professional, she conquered the realty industry for five years. Currently holding a 20 year prime position in the post office, she still finds time to fulfill my passion of photography, dance, music, illustration, and yes, motorcycle-riding! Her ultimate goal is to build her own foundation helping single moms.

Philip Glade was diagnosed with Autism at the early age of 5. He soon discovered that he had a passion for the arts and began focusing his attention to production. After convincing his mom of his new love, he went to acting school at the age of 6, but decided acting was not where he would hone his passion. His true desire is to write and he’s always in search of opportunities to participate on a production. Currently attending Pierce College obtaining an AA degree in film, Philip is delighted to be part of the production team of The RESCUE.
